Hondata FlashPro (2023+ Acura Integra Type S)

The DE5 FlashPro comes preloaded with a base map that will add 45 hp and 50 lb-ft torque at the click of a button. The factory ECU has to be jailbroken for FlashPro to work with the DE5. This is a separate product from Hondata. FlashPro is by far the most critical modification you will make. Many aftermarket parts claim to add horsepower and torque to your car immediately, but the only way to get everything out of the parts you buy is to get the car tuned. If you plan on getting other performance mods like a cold air intake or exhaust, you will want FlashPro to get the maximum performance from your new parts. Hondata is a state-of-the-art tuning device that enables individuals to optimize their vehicle's performance through advanced computer programming. Connecting the FlashPro to your laptop's USB and the vehicle's diagnostic port gives you access to live tuning, various calibrations, and extensive real-time and stored data logging capabilities.

While it is technically possible for an individual to utilize this device, we recommend consulting with a professional tuner to ensure proper and safe implementation. Attempting to use the device without adequate knowledge and expertise can negatively affect the vehicle and its performance.  The factory ECU has to be jailbroken for FlashPro to work with the DE5.   

Important Note

No instant jailbreak is available for the DE5 ITS.  The ECU must be sent to Hondata to be jailbroken.  The FlashPro will not work until the ECU is jailbroken.

The ECU part number is located on the ECU. The ECU is located in the engine bay near the battery. You may need to remove a plastic cover in order to see the sticker containing the part number.

How much power will the FlashPro make on my car?
The supplied 93 octane calibration makes 370 hp ( 45 hp over stock). The FlashPro itself does not make power. The combination of parts and your engine makes the power. The FlashPro allows you to tune the correct cam angle, fuel and ignition your car needs. The base maps are the best place to start. 

Do I need dyno tuning?
It shouldn't be necessary for a street car, but you still have the option of custom tuning if you wish to get a little more from higher octane fuels.

Will this work on more than one vehicle?
The FlashPro is locked to one vehicle. It can be unlocked and transferred to another vehicle by returning the ECU to stock.

Can I share the calibrations I make for my car?
Yes.

Do I need the laptop in the vehicle to reflash the ECU?
No. The FlashPro can upload either with or without a laptop.

How do I buy a used FlashPro?

So does that mean 1 unit Hondata FlashPro can only work with one ecu or car only? Which means I can't buy one FlashPro and use it together with a few of my buddies Civics?
One ECU and vehicle at a time. You can unlock the FlashPro by returning the ECU to stock, and then transfer to another vehicle.

If the ECU had been reflashed by another maker, can FlashPro still work?
Maybe, if it has been returned to stock. When you unlock the FlashPro it will only be reflashed back to a stock calibration.

Can it control nitrous?
No. However, you can at least control the ignition timing to make nitrous safer.

Do I need to send my ECU to Hondata?
Yes. The ECU requires jailbreaking, after which it will run a stock calibration

I am considering purchasing a used FlashPro. What do I need to do to check?
Yes. Provided the FlashPro is unlocked from the FK2 or FK8, it can be used on the FL5. Have the seller send you this screenshot which shows the serial number password and lock status. Hondata does not unlock FlashPros. The reason for this policy is to prevent both fraud (against us) and theft (against you

Will Hondata support Flex fuel on the FL5?

The stock fuel fuel system on the FL5 is pretty much maxed out. There is no margin for running any higher ethanol mix than the stock pump 10%. Next month we will test out the FK8 fuel system on the FL5. If it works, it will provide 24% more fuel volume and higher ethanol percetage fuel mixes.

Will Hondata support larger turbos on the FL5?

Same as above. The stock fuel system is maxed out. We need to test out the Hondata CTR fuel system.

The FL5 turbo has a 45 mm compressor wheel compared to the FK8 50mm. Does this mean it makes less horsepower?

No. The FL5 turbo makes more power than the FK8 throughout the entire range. In addition it spools 400 rpm earlier making 50-75 lb-ft more torque low in the rev range. Read the tech article.
